Inclusive and Diverse Learning
Learning supports are the resources, strategies, and practices that provide physical, social, emotional, and intellectual supports intended to enable all pupils to have an equal opportunity for success at school by addressing barriers to and promoting engagement in learning and teaching.
Any students who experience difficulties in basic areas of learning and behaviour, regardless of the cause, are supported by the school's Inclusion and Diverse Learning (IDL) teacher (Primary Schools) in conjunction with the student's teacher/s and the school Leadership Team.
The additional support the student receives is based on best practice and the individual needs of the students.
A formal disability diagnosis is not necessary to access this support: students may have significant learning difficulties, mild intellectual disability, language disorder or delay and behaviour needs. Students with autism spectrum disorders or mental health disorders are also supported via Learning Support.
The school's IDL teacher/coordinator can assist parents with the identification of additional learning support needs to ensure that the educational needs of the student are being met.
The IDL teacher/coordinator works collaboratively with the classroom teacher to identify and plan the specific learning and support needs of the student. (CEDWW, current as of May 2021)
Intervention Offered:
We also engage with NDIS providers as requested.
